Imagine a dimmed room full of excited people anticipating a wonderful quiz night for which you are responsible. Each player is wearing a small wristband with an RGB LED light that is controlled wireless from your PC. When the quiz show starts, the wristbands start to show magic colors creating a special atmosphere in the room. Then, on the keypad registration screen, all wristbands turn dimmed blue and after a player registers his or her keypad, their wristband turn green so they instantly know they're in the game. Now the quiz starts. At the beginning of each question all wristbands are blue again and when a vote is received, the player's wristband turns purple. At the end of the question everyone is eager to know if they're wrong or right. The wristbands turn red and green and everyone is yelling and laughing. This is what QuizXpress Galaxy can add to your show!

In QuizXpress version 5 we introduced support for this new type of hardware devices that we named QuizXpress Galaxy. These wireless devices (either wristbands or spheres to put on a table and even LED cocktail glasses are a posibility) are fully controlled by the QuizXpress software.

QuizXpress Galaxy wireless RGB LED devices for quiz show

The devices communicate with the software using a wireless receiver that is available in three different power options:

  • Low power receiver - 20 meters (65 feet) range
  • Medium power receiver - 60 meters (200 feet) range
  • High power receiver - 150 meters (500 feet) range

So depending on your range requirements you can select the appropriate receiver. For more information and bundle pricing details please see our shop here.

Yes you can!

We have a plugin module available (QuizXpress Message Broker) that allows you to receive all sorts of events that are happening within the quiz player through a network communication channel (using plain TCP/UPD ASCII or the UDP/OSC protocol). The type of events you can hook are for example the countdown timer start/stop, someone hits a buzzer, a good/wrong answer was given, the question ended, the score screen is presented, commands from the quizmaster remote control etc. With this module in place you can build a much more advanced experience for your audience where you can integrate for example DMX light controllers, some custom hardware that you may have, special audio equipment, secondary screens connected to other computers etc. You can for example easily integrate with the graphical programming tool Max 7 (created by a company named CYCLING'74) which is widely used in the multimedia industry to drive MIDI devices, DMX lighting setups, Arduino boards, synthesizers and more interesting devices.

This is a licensed module. If you want to know more about this, please drop us a mail.
